Alright everyone, today we’re going to talk about HBCUs – Historically Black Colleges and Universities. You’ve probably heard a lot of misconceptions and stereotypes around what HBCUs are all about. On Ebony.com, you can find an article called 8 Myths About HBCUs That Simply Aren’t True—and Why – and they list of things like, “HBCUs are party schools”, “Students receive an inferior education”, and “HBCUs lack diversity”.

Well, today, we’re diving into what HBCUs are actually all about.

My guest is Miss Amanda J Henry, an independent educational consultant and adjunct professor who specializes in career readiness. Like me, Amanda went to an HBCU – Texas Southern University – which was radically different than her high school experience.
